Primitivo is a 6x6 three-dimensional mixed media piece created using paper, brass and resin.
I created the earthy-toned paper by soaking the paper for several days with a rust covered metal objects and then used stencils, spray paint and ink to give it an aged or distressed look. Then I cut and bent brass strips into circular shapes to accent and outline the paper providing more depth, contrast and form. Finally, I embellished the sides of the piece using gold mirror effects to compliment the overall design.
